Shop Rooms

This has been taken from one of the shop rooms.

When you use look it looks as follows:
This medium sized room has been built so that it straddles the boundary line between House Kassanid's estate and the more communal areas of the colony. The interior has been painted blue and decorated with an earthy red border. Four large unglazed windows in the entry wall allow the light of the sun or moon to flood into the room. A pair of brass lanterns hang from the wooden and a beautiful collection of display racks and a crescent shaped counter have been arranged on the wooden floors.

When you examine you get this:
This medium sized [v(v.roomfunction)] has been built so that it straddles the boundary line between House Kassanid's estate and the more communal areas of the colony. The interior has been painted [v(v.paintcolour)] and decorated with [v(v.walldecor)]. Four large [v(v.windowdetail)] windows in the entry wall allow the light of the sun or moon to flood into the room. A pair of [v(v.lanterndetail)] lanterns hang from the [v(v.ceilingdetail)] and a beautiful collection of display racks and a crescent shaped counter have been arranged on the [v(v.floordetail)] floors. [v(v.specialdetail)]

The [v(v.roomfunction)] part is the modifiable bit. When you use decorate/function bedroom. That will change from room to bedroom.

Shops have a single shopkeeper type object and a massive lockable countainer (usually but not always the counter). Shop permissions are set to every vnum on the house org object.

estate lands

The estate lands isn't moddable. So that is entirely staff written. Estates are always six acres in total. Here is an example of something appropriate:

The Kassanid Estate consists of six acres of arable land which have been evenly split between an immature orchid and grazing land. Placed centrally in this land, at the end of an earthen track flanked with young coconut palms, is the pale bulk of the main House. A long brick animal house stands close to the House across from a pretty herb garden. Closer to the main gateway a brick building straddles the fence just east of the main gate, enabling people to access the House shop inside from both inside without first accessing the estate. A wagon-sized road flanked with immature coconut palms and some of the more ornamental herbs runs from the main gate all the way up to the front of the House.

this has three farmable fields set. Which should have permissions set to every vnum on the org object.

Courtyard

All houses are built around a central courtyard and you enter the house through a passageway that leads into the courtyard and then you use the courtyard to access the wings. Windows are only on the courtyard side on the ground floor but will be on both sides on any added floors.
Most important thing with these descs is to make sure the directions all work. If its the west wing then obviously the windows will be to the east etc.

This walled space is filled with the traditional courtyard garden that fills the center of any true Su'ndari home. [v(v.gardenpotdetail)] filled with [v(v.gardenplantdetail)] have been arranged around a central [v(v.gardenfountaindetail)]. [v(v.gardendetail)]. Several doors flanked by small windows provide entrance into the rooms beyond.

Rooms

Here is the generic desc i've got on the parent. It can obviously be modified as much as you like. Only unchangeable things should be hard written ideally though. Dont include furniture although you can include carpets and the like if they really make sense. v.specialdetail tends to cover that sort of thing though. Windows are going to be unglazed. Shutters are usually filigreed/carved with lots of holes in them.

This large rectangular [v(v.roomfunction)] spreads across the entire southern length of the courtyard. It is painted a [v(v.paintcolour)] and decorated with [v(v.walldecor)]. Four small [v(v.windowdetail)] windows allow the light of the sun or moon to enter the room through the northern wall and each is shielded by a [v(v.shutterdetail)] pair of interior shutters. A pair of [v(v.lanterndetail)] lanterns hang from the [v(v.ceilingdetail)] ceiling. The floors are [v(v.floordetail)]. [v(v.specialdetail)] [v(v.scentdetail)]
